Chinese Fog – AKA Pollution to the Rest of Us!

Dear Readers, the past few days have been particularly full of ‘Chinese Fog’. And when I say foggy, I mean the Chinese version, which means pollution.

There is something called an AQI Index which measures pollution levels. Today, November 8, in Seattle, that level is 21.

Today, November 8, in Shanghai, it’s 220. Yesterday, it approached 300, where levels are defined as ‘hazardous.’ Today, they are ‘very unhealthy.’ When it’s this bad, you can smell it and taste it, and it’s awful.

Check out the Chinese ‘fog’ below!

On the flip side, we could be in the city of Harbin, in Northeastern China, where a few weeks ago, their Pollution AQI reached over 1000!!!!! Holy Freakin’ Schnikes, Batman!  The city was pretty much shut down, including their airport, and visibility was anywhere from 5-10 meters…yuck. See for yourself.

So Dear Readers, never take anything for granted!
