Who We Are
International Educators & Travelers
We are Cam & Ana! We are experienced educators with 20 years of teaching experience between us. We have taught internationally for most of that time in China, South Korea, Russia, the Dominican Republic, and the Middle East. We have extensive experience in international schools in elementary and middle classrooms. We have many years of experience in developing units and working with different curricula and frameworks (PYP, Aero, C3, etc.).
Cam’s travel experience started with a simple trip to Thailand, Cambodia, and finally to Hong Kong to visit a close friend. That first time abroad set him on a path of creating his own life of international experiences. His experience in education has primarily been in elementary education, where he’s taught students from around the world to be more open-minded and empathetic and to think critically about the world around them. He is currently teaching a Grade 6 ancient history course.
Ana started as a lawyer working in the non-profit space helping women in the Dominican Republic and Haiti access small business loans and basic financial training to create opportunities to increase their income. After moving to China, she swapped careers and started on a path in education. She has taught middle school humanities around the world, but currently, she is teaching Grade 7 global geography.
Mission & Vision
We started this site many years ago to keep our friends and family up-to-date on our travels and experiences as expat teachers. It has since morphed into what you see today. We still detail our travels, but we offer advice for those new to travel or looking to move abroad and join the expat community.
